HISTORY:

Belarusian State Medical University is one of the leading medical universities in Belarus and is situated in the capital of Belarus, Minsk.

The medical faculty was established in 1921, and as a matter of fact, it was part of Belarusian State University.

In 1930, this medical faculty became a self-administered institute. In 1925, the first batch of doctors was awarded MBBS degrees. In 1960, the Dentistry Faculty was established at BSMU.

In 1967, the faculty for international students was established.

Gomel State Medical University was established in 1990 in the city of Gomel.

Training for the international students started in 2000. During the first six years of 1578, doctors were awarded medical degrees. Among these 1578 graduates, there were 119 international students, and this was the first batch of international students at Gomel State Medical University.

GOMEL STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

In 2010, Gomel State Medical University was awarded ISO-9001 for its best and highest standard of quality education for its students among all medical universities in Belarus.

From 2007 to 2015, Gomel State Medical University awarded 3857 doctors with medical degrees, and among those were 296 international students.
