In Belarus, admissions are controlled by the migration department for all international students, and only they have the authority to approve the admission. To be admitted to any Belarusian university, international students do not require any language tests like in other countries. Those international students who are good at English may directly join their desired program in English as a medium of instruction, and those applicants who are not good at English may join a first-year preparatory program for Russian language with science subjects and learn basic Russian for 10 months. Most applicants from Arab and French-speaking countries prefer to study a preparatory course first, but the choice remains with the applicant regarding the medium of instruction.
